Committees

The Steering Committee serves as the lead entity with oversight responsibilities for the subcommittees. The Steering Committee meets monthly to discuss subcommittee work, identify and analyze service gaps and needs and develop strategies to meet those needs. Chairs of the subcommittees are members of the Steering Committee to ensure seamless communication in the planning process.

The Membership Committee provides recommendations for membership and develops representation and governance guidelines for the Partnership and committees. Membership is responsible for identifying, coordinating and conducting outreach to new individuals and agencies, providing new participants with orientation of the continuum of care process and their role in its work.

The Gaps, Needs and Priorities Committee is responsible for the development and maintenance of a regional database to track homeless information. This committee develops and administers the survey tool and organizes and conducts the point in time count of homeless individuals.

The Housing/Ten Year Plan Committee focuses its work on identifying housing development goals and solutions in our continuum. Members of this committee also serve on other committees to develop a statewide plan to end homelessness convened by the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness.

The Program Evaluation/Quality Assurance Committee is responsible for developing an evaluation process for existing homeless programs in the region. Annual evaluations ensure that programs meet objectives, outcomes and the needs of the persons they serve.

The HUD Committee was created to centralize the activities specific to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant. Members of this committee are responsible for developing an annual timeline of tasks to be completed for the grant process and have assumed the responsibility of coordinating and writing the HUD application.

The Scoring and Ranking Committee is the central point of intake for all potential HUD applicants. Members of this committee develop the process for soliciting and scoring project applications as well as the scoring instrument. The committee is charged with soliciting and screening pre-applications for the HUD grant as well as defining the eligibility criteria for members of the Independent Scoring and Ranking Panel.
